Sri Lanka to play 10 Tests and 42 white ball matches in 2024

Sri Lanka’s Future Tours Program (FTP) released by Sri Lanka Cricket reveals a heavy international calendar for the National Cricket Team for the year 2024.

Sri Lanka are due to play 10 Test matches, nine of them part of the ICC Test Championships. They are also scheduled to play 21 ODIs and 21 T20Is during the year in addition to participating in the ICC T20 World Cup in West Indies and USA in June-July.

The 2024 calendar year commences with a white ball series against Zimbabwe at home in January. It will be followed by a similar series with Afghanistan who are also due in Sri Lanka. The highlight of the Afghanistan tour will be the inaugural Test match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan which is not part of the ICC Test Championship.  “We are heading into a highly exciting year with a lot of international cricket to be played, which augurs well for us, as our team will be engaged in competitive cricket year around,” said Sri Lanka Cricket CEO Ashley de Silva. “The 2024 calendar is expected to give our players a lot of playing opportunities, fans entertainment, and our sponsors’ great exposure.”
