Sri Lanka’s young shuttlers win gold at Nepal

Sri Lanka’s young shuttlers clinched the gold medal in both Under-17 and Under-15 age groups at the South Asia Regional Junior Badminton Championships held at the National Sports Council in Tripureshwor, Kathmandu, Nepal yesterday.

Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh 3-2 in the Under-17 final and defeated Nepal 3-0 in the final of Under-15 event. Ranitma Liyanage, Hiruka Sahanmith Aluth Patabandige, Ranumi Manage and Thidasa Weragoda competed in the Under-17 competition, while Senuth Sethmina Perera, Nethmi Amaya Ratnayake, Keneth Arukgoda and Sithuli Ranasinghe competed the Under-15 competition.
