Sri Lanka lose to Maldives

Sri Lanka were edged out by Maldives in their last group encounter 1/0 in their SAAF Football Championship 2021 encounter played at the National Stadium in Maldives yesterday.

At the short breather winners led 1/0.

Sri Lanka put up a brave effort but were inches short from scoring a goal. In the earlier encounters they lost out to Bangladesh and Nepal before ending level with India being the only plus point on this tour. The Sri Lankan outfit ended last in the group stages out of the five teams. The top two teams will feature in the final encounter.
