Sri Lanka women’s team celebrates their success in winning the WODI series 2-1 against Bangladesh

Sri Lanka Women displayed their dominance over Bangladesh Women in the ODI series when they won their second bilateral series against them 2-1 at Rajshahi.
The two countries had met on an earlier occasion in a bilateral series three years ago in Sri Lanka when the home team emerged victorious 1-0.
Success in the ODI series was a winning start for Sri Lanka women’s team head coach Jamie Siddons, for whom it was the first series after undertaking a one-year contract with Sri Lanka Cricket.
Sri Lanka, who lost the first WODI match of the series to Bangladesh by three wickets, showed their resilience to bounce back by winning the next two WODIs by four wickets and by seven wickets to pocket the series in style.
Outstanding for Sri Lanka were captain Chamari Athapaththu in the second WODI, where she picked up the Player of the Match award with a superb all-round display (3/36 and 40), her opening partner Hasini Perera, who bagged the Player of the Match award in the third WODI with a career-best knock of 95, and middle order batter Imesha Dulani, who took the Player of the Series award with two fifties in the series (52 and 56).
The two teams will commence a three-match WT20I series at Sylhet tomorrow.
