The number of COVID-19-positive cases in the Sri Lanka Women’s cricket team, currently taking part in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifiers in Zimbabwe, rose to four after one more player tested positive in tests conducted before the match against the Netherlands Women on Tuesday.
Three players were confirmed as COVID-19-positive on Sunday and the Event Technical Committee approved two replacements for Sri Lanka, both of whom played in the game against Netherlands which Sri Lanka won by 34 runs (D/L method). Anushka Sanjeewani and Tharika Sewwandi was replaced by Harshitha Samarawickrama and Vishmi Rajapaksha.
Sri Lanka Women’s second game is against West Indies Women on Saturday.
