Sri Lanka Tuskers leave home soil for Asia Sevens China leg

The 12-member Sevens team left Sri Lankan shores this week to compete at the upcoming Second Leg of the Asia Rugby Sevens Series tourney that will kick off today and tomorrow in Huizhou, China.

The Sevens team will be led by Dansha Dayan and will play their first game against Korea at 12.12 p.m. Sri Lanka time, Chinese Taipei at 15.38 p.m. Sri Lanka time and play their last preliminary round match against Asian heavyweights Japan on the following day 10.04 a.m. Sri Lanka time.

In 2016 Sri Lanka finished runners-up at the round two of the Asia Sevens.

The national Sevens rugby team is sponsored by Dialog Axiata and is also the proud sponsor of the Sri Lankan National Cricket, Volleyball and Netball teams. The company also has a close association with the President’s Gold Cup volleyball, national junior and senior netball tourneys, Premier Football, schools’ cricket and Paralympic sports by powering Sri Lankan contingent to the Olympic and World Paralympic Games.
