Selectors give opportunity to youth to captain T20 sides

SLC T20 triangular league

All-rounder Dunith Wellalage and batting all-rounder Kamindu Mendis have been appointed Captains of the Blue and Green teams that will play in a SLC T20 triangular league in preparation for the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe later this month.

The third team in the tournament Grey will be captained by Sri Lanka’s white-ball skipper Charith Asalanka.

During this tournament, Sri Lanka will be looking to fill in a few voids in their batting ranks – like the no. 4 and no. 6 positions – ahead of next year’s T20 World Cup.

The matches commence at the SSC Grounds from 7 August.
