Sarasavi Uyana, Peradeniya wins under-18 seven-a-side rugby cup

Sarasavi Uyana, Peradeniya, better known for their boxing, stamped their class at the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SSRFA) under-18 seven-a-side rugby encounter which concluded at the Vincent Dias Stadium in Badulla. They beat Mahanama Panadura 12-7 in the cup final.

In the plate encounter, Sir John Kotalawela beat Ginthota MV 54-0 while St. Aloysius accounted for the bowl by outclassing Sri Sumangala 20-0. President College, Maharagama did not return empty handed as they secured the shield trophy beating St. Luke, Ratnapura 29-14. (SJ)
