The S. Thomas’ Prep Invitation Youth Rugby Carnival 2026 is set to bring together the country’s promising young rugby talent on 6 June at the CR and FC Rugby Ground at Longdon Place. This year marks the 50th edition of the rugby carnival.
Organised by Agoal Rugby under the guidance of Tournament Director Dilroy Fernando, the carnival will feature competition in four age categories: Under-10, Under-12, Under-14 and Under-16.
The first kick-off is scheduled for 8.30 a.m.
Tournament organisers have introduced simplified match rules to encourage fast-paced rugby and maximum participation. All matches will be played over a flat 10-minute duration with rolling substitutions. In the older age groups, conversions will be taken as drop kicks within 30 seconds of a try being scored.
Special emphasis has also been placed on discipline and player welfare. Strict non-contact regulations will apply in the Under-10 Tag Rugby division, while all players, coaches and officials are expected to uphold high standards of sportsmanship throughout the carnival. – (SJ)
