The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOC SL) has confirmed its participation at the inaugural SEA Plus Youth Games in Manila from 2 to 14 December 2027. This will bring together promising young athletes from across Asia in a new regional multi-sport competition.
The tournament will feature competitors from the 11 Southeast Asian nations including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam, along with the host nation Philippines.
In addition, 12 Asian countries outside the Southeast Asian region have been invited under the ‘Plus’ category. These nations include Bahrain, Bhutan, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, and Turkmenistan.
NOC SL President Suresh Subramaniam welcomed the invitation and confirmed Sri Lanka’s participation, noting that the opportunity reflects the strong relationship between the Olympic committees.
The SEA Plus Youth Games is expected to provide young athletes with valuable international exposure while creating an important pathway towards major global competitions such as the Asian Youth Games and the Youth Olympic Games.
