Royal College produced a strong performance to defeat St. Anthony’s College 34-13 in their Dialog Schools Rugby Knockouts 2026 President’s Trophy Pre-Quarter Final played at CR and FC Ground at Longdon Place.
Royal dominated proceedings for most of the encounter, running in four tries while also adding four conversions and two penalties to seal a comfortable victory. St. Anthony’s managed a try, conversion and two penalties but struggled to keep pace with the Colombo school’s attacking play.
The Reid Avenue outfit held a 20-10 advantage at the short breather after an energetic first half where they applied constant pressure through their forwards and backs.
With this win, Royal College move forward to the quarter-finals of the tournament, continuing their campaign for the President’s Trophy with a game against Thomians. The match was refereed by Charani Liyanage.
