Left handed golfer, Reshan Algama, retained his lead at the Sri Lanka Golf Ranking Tournament with a composed even-par second round of 73, bringing his total to an impressive 144 after two days of play at Rajawella yesterday.
Reshan was in top form but Kumar Dhanushan, who lit up the course with a brilliant 3-under-par 70, the best round of Day 2.His aggressive yet calculated approach helped him climb the leaderboard, moving from a Day 1 score of 76 to a combined 146 now just two shots behind Algama with two rounds remaining. Vijitha Bandara, one of the professionals taking part maintained consistency with a 74, placing him in third at 147, just three strokes off the lead. Bandara’s steady game continues to keep him in contention heading into the latter half of the tournament.
After Day 2 only the top 15 will proceed for Day 3 today. Others who made the cut are Haroon Aslam, Jevahn Sathasivam, R. Padmanathan, Jacob Norton, Uchitha Ranasinghe, P. Hemantha, Chalitha Pushpika, G. Wijenayake, Adithya Weerasinghe, P. Kumara, Chanaka Perera and R. Rupasinghe.
