Regional Golf all segment winners

The Regional Junior Golf Championship 2025, sponsored by Prima Sunrise Bread and Bakery, concluded in grand style at the Victoria Golf Resort in Rajawella. Over three days of intense competition, the event produced exceptional performances across all junior divisions, underlining the strength of Sri Lanka’s emerging golfing talent.
The Gold Division (15–18 years) was a thrilling battle. After trailing on the opening day, Reshan Algama produced a remarkable comeback on days two and three to clinch the title. His steady play and consistency saw him finish with a winning total of 215.
Jevahn Sathasivam, who had led after the first round, was unable to hold his advantage but still delivered a top class performance, finishing runner-up with a total of 218. The contest between the two golfers was a standout feature of the Gold segment for the Boys segment. Jacob Norton finished on 226 ending on number 3.
In the Girls’ Gold Division, Keya Abhayaratne was in brilliant form throughout. She totalled 262 to secure victory, finishing ahead of Aaraadhi Samararathne, who claimed second place with 270. Keya’s poise under pressure highlighted her growing maturity on the course. Sithara Lorance ended 3rd in this segment.
The Copper Division also produced exciting golf. Rising star Jaeden Sathasivam dominated this category, winning with a total of 108. This marked his fourth consecutive title, showcasing his potential as he prepares to step into the Bronze Division next year.
Anuradhapura’s Abhiman Abeywardhana impressed with his consistency to finish second on 117. Janith Guruge was third in this event with 124. In the Girls’ Copper Division, Dulkini Kangara emerged victorious with a total of 133, while Sanuthi Thangaraja took runner-up honours on 160. Third place went to Hakshara Pradeep with a score of 169.
The Boys’ Bronze Division was tightly contested. Ultimately, Yuvan Rathiskanth carded a total of 192 to secure the title. Just two strokes behind was runner-up Anushara Perera, who finished on 194. Thuwakaran Pragaran took the third place with a total score of 195.
The Girls’ Bronze Division was equally competitive. Here, Fathima Zeeniya produced a strong showing to claim victory with a total of 205. Close behind, Vihara Herath posted 208 to secure the runner-up position. Mushrifa Muzammil with a total score of 220 secured third place.
In the Silver Division (Boys), Lavindu Premarathna stamped his authority with a dominant total of 244. His all-round consistency kept him well clear of Udeera Bandara, who finished second with 260. Shahika Amarasinghe with 281 was placed third in this segment.
Among the Silver Division girls, Genuli Weerakoon triumphed with a total of 283. She was followed by Venudi Keerthana, who finished runner-up with a score of 311. Sanjalee Dhanodya was placed third with a total score of 380.
Across all divisions, more than 80 junior golfers showcased their skills at this annual championship. The tournament continues to serve as a crucial stepping stone for young golfers aspiring to higher levels.
