Reshan and Kaya stamp their class

The Faldo Series Sri Lanka 2026, sponsored by DFCC Bank with N able as the official technology partner, concluded in grand style at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC), highlighting the impressive depth of junior golfing talent across multiple age groups. 

Played before a large and appreciative spectatorship, the prestigious championship once again reaffirmed its status as a vital pathway for young golfers aiming for regional and international success.

The spotlight firmly belonged to the 17–21 age group, where Reshan Algama produced a superb and consistent three-day performance to clinch the Boys’ title. Finishing with an outstanding 205 in total. Reshan displayed remarkable composure under pressure. His sensational 8 under par on day 2 was a course record for a member at RCGC and propelled him to the position of top ranked Sri Lankan junior on the WAGR. Kumar Danushan finished runner-up in the Boys’ segment with a solid 212.

In the Girls’ 17–21 category, Kaya Daluwatte delivered a class performance to secure the title in emphatic fashion, finishing with 208 strokes. Benefiting from valuable overseas exposure in India, Kaya dominated the field and confirmed her growing reputation as one of Sri Lanka’s finest junior golfers. Danushi Wanasinghe finished runner-up with 295, while Kaya also emerging as the overall winner in her segment.

The 13–16 age group featured strong international participation and was topped by Vibaan Ubhayakar of India, who claimed the title with a steady three-round total of 215. Fellow Indian golfer Karmanye Mahajan of India finished runner-up on 222. In the Girls’ segment, Mira Agrawal of India emerged champion with 258, while Kandy girl Sithara Lorance finished second with 267.

In the 11–12 age group, Syed Mahbeer of Bangladesh dominated the Boys’ competition to win convincingly with a total of 98. Vivaan Singh of India claimed second place, while Jaeden Sathasivam narrowly missed out, finishing just three strokes behind. In the Girls’ segment, Vihara Herath claimed the title with 133, followed by Dulkini Kangara on 141.

The 9–10 age group delivered thrilling contests across both segments. Ayra Yasin of Pakistan was in sensational form in the Girls’ category, winning with an impressive 109 while, Aashna Amogha of India finished runner-up on 115.In the Boys’ division, Abiman Abeywardhanamdominated from the opening round to win with 115, with Jayith Guruge finishing second.

In the youngest 7–8 age group, Thangaraja Ometh produced a strong final round comeback to claim victory with 139, edging out Rahein Manatunga on a count-back after both finished level. In the Girls’ segment, Kyra Cader emerged champion with 161, while Samyuktha Vinesh finished runner-up on 166.

Overall, the Faldo Series Sri Lanka 2026 once again delivered a high standard of competitive junior golf, unearthing emerging stars and reinforcing its role as a cornerstone event in the development of future champions.
