One of the elite clubs in domestic cricket SSC who find themselves in uncharted territory in Tier B are on the rampage to win the 3-Day League title and gain promotion to the Major Club 3-Day League which they know is where they belong.
SSC have won their first four matches with such conviction sweeping all opposition they have faced under them that no club so far has been able to stop the juggernaut from rolling them over. Commencing today SSC host Sebastianites on their ground and will be looking to extend their unbeaten run.
United Southern SC who have been keeping pace behind SSC lost some ground when Kandy Customs SC held them to a draw and allowed them only first innings points. They will take on Negombo CC at Air Force grounds, Katunayake and look forward to grabbing full points off them. Negombo CC lost to SSC by 10 wickets last weekend.
With two outright victories under the belt Leo CC will fancy their chances of taking full points off Navy SC who are still without a win after four matches in their match commencing at Welisara.
Galle CC who gave a good account of themselves to notch their first win, take on Colombo Malay CC at Moors SC grounds in what should turn out to be a keen contest.
Moratuwa SC with three wins out of four games will look to stretch that record further when they meet Kandy Customs SC at Army grounds, Dombagoda. Kandy Customs SC have just one win out of four games.
Army SC with a strong batting line up will look for full points against a struggling Ragama CC in their match at Army grounds, Saliyapura. – [ST]
