At the SSC grounds, CCC put into bat first were not too happily placed at 123-6 against Nugegoda SWC. For CCC Dulnith Sigera scored 38, Pavan Rathnayake 26 and Sahan Kosala 35* off 30 balls (7 fours).

In the other game at the adjoining NCC grounds, only 17 overs were possible and, in that time Negombo CC invited to bat first made 39-2 against Bloomfield. Left-arm seamer Dulaj Samudtha captured both wickets for 12 runs. Both matches will continue on the second day today. – [ST]
