Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) emerged champions of the 5th Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup Golf Championship 2026, which teed off at the picturesque Eagles’ Citadel Golf Course in Sigiriya last weekend.

RCGC produced a consistent all-round performance to secure the coveted team title with an aggregate score of 322 points. They edged out Victoria Golf Resort (VGR), which finished a close second on 319 points after an exciting contest. Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (NEGC) claimed third place with 306 points, while the host Air Force Eagles Golf Club (AFEGC) finished fourth with 290 points.

The championship marked a significant milestone as it was the first major tournament staged at the Eagles’ Citadel Golf Course. Developed by the Sri Lanka Air Force, the Sigiriya layout becomes the country’s fourth Air Force-managed golf course, after China Bay, Koggala, and Anuradhapura.

Haroon Aslam, who recently returned to Sri Lanka while taking a break from his studies in the United States, enjoyed an outstanding tournament. He claimed both the Best Overall Gross title with 41 points and the Best Overall Net title with 40 points, underlining his dominance throughout the championship. Nishantha Perera finished runner-up in the Gross category with 23 points, while Pravina Dunuwille won the Ladies’ Best Net award with an impressive 37 points.

Roshan Shyanthi Peries captured the Women’s Nearest-to-the-Pin title, while former S. Thomas’ College cricketer Ken de Alwis won the Men’s Nearest-to-the-Pin competition. Sandra Cardien recorded the Women’s Longest Drive, with Haroon Aslam adding another accolade by winning the Men’s Longest Drive award.
