RCGC Captains Cup to tee off tomorrow

The Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) will stage the prestigious Captains Cup 2025 from 13 to 15 March at the historic Ridgeway Links in Borella.

The tournament, a highlight on the club’s golfing calendar, is expected to attract a strong field of golfers competing in a spirit of sportsmanship and tradition.

Tee off tomorrow will be from 7 a.m. onwards, with over 200 golfers tipped to take part.

Founded in 1879, the Club continues to uphold its rich legacy while moving steadily towards its 150th anniversary in 2029. The Captains Cup remains one of the events that celebrates this longstanding heritage. Over three days, the course will provide a competitive yet friendly environment where golfers test their skill, precision, and consistency. The event also promotes camaraderie among members and participants.

The tournament will be contested on medal play on 14 and 15 March and the Overall Winner selected. Masters and Seniors (Gents and Ladies) play too will take place, adding colour to the event. RCGC Captain Gehan Siribaddana generously donated the trophies. (SJ)
