RCGC Captains Cup for Tebuwana

Royal Colombo Golf Club Captain’s Cup 2025 concluded with an exciting display of competitive golf as leading golfers battled for honours over two days of play at the Royal Colombo Golf Club course.

The highlight of the tournament was the victory of Janaka Tebuwana, who emerged as the Overall Nett Winner. Tebuwana produced two steady rounds of 70 and 69 to finish with a combined 139 Nett, displaying excellent control and composure on both days to secure the prestigious title.

Finishing close behind was H. A. S. Madanayake, who claimed the Overall Nett Runner-Up position. Madanayake carded rounds of 73 and 67 for a total of 140 Nett, producing one of the best rounds of the tournament on the second day to remain in contention until the end.

The Overall Gross title was won by Kumar Danushan, who maintained steady scoring over both rounds. Danushan returned scores of 74 and 73 to finish with a gross total of 147 and secure the top gross honour of the tournament.

In the Masters Division, Anura Fernando delivered an impressive performance to claim the title with 67 Nett, while Bandula Weerasinghe finished as Runner-Up with 70 Nett after a competitive contest.

The Seniors Division saw a tight finish as Suresh Amarasekera secured victory with 70 Nett on a back-nine countback. Arjun Gooneratne also returned 70 Nett but had to settle for the runner-up position after the countback decision.

In the Ladies Division, Usha De Silva emerged as the winner with 72 Nett while Keya Abhayaratne finished runner-up with 73 Nett after a closely contested round.

Ladies Seniors Division title went to Myungock Jane Hong with 73 Nett while Kalyani Ranasinghe finished runner-up with 75 Nett.

Special daily awards were won by Gayan Galapitage for the 1st Day Best Nett with 69, while H. A. S. Madanayake claimed the 2nd Day Best Nett with 67 to conclude a memorable Captain’s Cup tournament.
