Following his brilliant maiden ODI century in the third and final match against England, Pavan Rathnayake has earned a recall to the Sri Lanka T20I squad of 16 named for the three-match series against England starting at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Friday.
Also returning to the side is right-arm seamer Pramod Madushan who also played in the recently concluded three-match ODI series against England, but hasn’t played in a T20I match since April 2023.
These are the two changes the squad has undergone from the one named for the 3-match T20I series against Pakistan early this month which ended in a one-all draw.
Kamindu Mendis, Nuwan Thushara, Dushan Hemantha and Traveen Mathew have been left out from the 18-member squad that was picked for the Pakistan series.
