Panadura SC grabs most awards despite loss in final

SLC Major Clubs T20 tournament

Panadura SC who finished runner-up to CCC in the first domestic final played under lights at the CCC grounds on Sunday, bagged the most awards at the completion of the SLC Major Clubs T20 tournament.

Panadura SC’s opening batsman Vishen Halambage won two of the four awards won by his club – the Best Batsman’s award (Rs. 750,000) and the Player of the Tournament (Rs. 1,000,000). Dushan Hemantha, the Panadura SC Captain won the Best All-rounders award (Rs. 1,000,000) and also collected a cheque for Rs. 1,500,000 as runner-up.

As champions, CCC Captain Wanindu Hasaranga received a cheque for Rs. 2,000,000. Other awards winners were CCC’s Lasith Croospulle for Player of the Final (Rs. 500,000) and NCC’s Sampath Nishshanka for Best Bowler (Rs. 750,000). The awards were presented by SLC Vice President Ravin Wickramaratne, SLC Secretary Bandula Dissanayake and Tournament Committee Chairman Nalin Aponso.
