Nissanka breaks into ICC Men’s ODI top ten rankings

Sri Lanka’s white ball opener Pathum Nissanka has broken into the top ten of the ICC Men’s ODI batting rankings moving up three places from 11th to 8th following his performance in the recently concluded 3-match ODI series against Bangladesh.

Nissanka accumulated 151 runs in three innings (avg. 50.33) which included a match-winning century that saw him taking the leap into the top ten.

Also taking a big stride is Vice-Captain Charith Asalanka who has moved up two places to be placed 14th. Asalanka finished the series with an aggregate of 146 which included a top score of 91.

In the ICC Men’s T20I bowling rankings spinners Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana occupy spots in the first 10. Hasaranga is placed second to England’s Adil Rashid (rating of 726) with a rating of 687, while his bowling partner Theekshana is fifth with a rating of 659.  

In the ICC Men’s Test batting rankings former captain Dimuth Karunaratne occupies seventh slot, while left-arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya is placed eighth in the ICC Men’s Test bowling rankings.
