Nepal signed off from the T20 World Cup with a seven-wicket win over Scotland in a closely fought Group stage encounter in Mumbai yesterday.

Scotland posted 170-7 after electing to bat, with Michael Jones anchoring the innings with 71 off 45 deliveries. The total appeared competitive on a surface offering value for shots, but Nepal responded with composure in the chase.

Nepal recovered from early pressure to stay within reach of the target before sealing victory in the final over. Dipendra Singh Airee struck an unbeaten half-century to guide the side home, anchoring the innings with a controlled finish under pressure.

The result leaves both Nepal and Scotland with one win each in the tournament. Both sides had earlier pushed England in their respective group fixtures but fell short of progressing to the next stage.

For Nepal, the victory marks their first T20 World Cup win since 2014, providing a positive conclusion to their campaign despite an early exit.
