The much-looked-forward-to Nations Trust Bank Golf Championship 2026 is set to return in grand fashion at the prestigious Royal Colombo Golf Club on 22 and 23 May, promising to deliver one of the largest corporate golf gatherings in the country.

Organised by Nations Trust Bank, this year’s edition has already attracted more than 340 registered golfers, already making it one of the highest participation turnouts witnessed in recent years.

In a major first for the championship, organisers will introduce three shotgun starts across the two days, a move aimed at accommodating the growing interest and ensuring a smooth and exciting tournament experience for all participants. The event continues to expand in stature and popularity within Sri Lanka’s golfing community.

The championship will feature golfers representing several of the bank’s key customer segments, including Private Banking, American Express Cardmembers, Corporate Banking and Commercial Banking, alongside invited members of the Royal Colombo Golf Club. The tournament has become a unique platform that combines competitive golf, corporate networking and fellowship.

First launched in 2008, the Nations Trust Bank Golf Championship has steadily evolved into a significant event in the local golfing calendar. This year marks the 11th edition of the tournament, reflecting the bank’s long-standing commitment to promoting golf and strengthening relationships with its valued clientele and partners.

Competition will be intense across multiple categories, with trophies and awards on offer for Gents’ and Ladies’ Winners and Runners-Up, in addition to Masters and Seniors divisions. Organisers are expecting a high standard of golf, with several of the country’s leading amateur golfers expected to be in action.

Several exciting on-course competitions have also been planned to enhance the tournament atmosphere. Among them will be the Longest Drive contest at the 8th hole and the Closest to the Pin challenge at the 13th hole, both expected to generate considerable interest among participants.

One of the major attractions of this year’s championship will be the spectacular Hole-in-One prize. Golfers achieving the rare feat will stand a chance of winning a luxurious Hublot Big Bang Unico Titanium 42mm watch valued at an impressive Rs. 8 million.

Adding further glamour to the tournament, the Overall Winner will also receive an all-expenses-paid golfing holiday to the Maldives at a premier golf resort, bringing the curtain down on what promises to be a memorable edition of the Nations Trust Bank Golf Championship 2026.
