The Awarding Ceremony for National Course Directors was held recently marking a significant milestone in Sri Lanka’s sports administration development efforts.
The National Course Director Training Program, conducted under the auspices of Olympic Solidarity, is designed to equip senior sports administrators with the expertise required to deliver Sport Administrators’ Courses across the country. This long-anticipated recognition was awarded to individuals who had completed the training programs in 2016, 2019, 2022, and in some cases, even earlier.
The awardees present at the ceremony were: Group Captain (Retd.) Nalin de Silva, Olivia Gamage, Prof. (Rear Admiral) Shemal Fernando, Major General (Retd.) Dampath Fernando, Akhry Ameer, Nishanthe Piyasena, D. Sameera Lakruwan Perera, M.K.A. Anoma Rathnayake, and Sivarajah Gobinath.
The awards were presented by the NOC Sri Lanka President Sri Lanka Suresh Subramaniam, the Secretary General Rifdy Fahmy and Vice Presidents Niloo Jayathilake and Deva Henry.
This ceremony not only celebrated the achievements of these seasoned professionals but also underscored the National Olympic Committee’s continued commitment to strengthening sports governance and administration through structured education and recognition.
