The country was represented by NOC Sri Lanka General Manager Lal Wickrematunge, and Team Sri Lanka Chef de Mission Samith Thilina. Their presence at this key forum underlined Sri Lanka’s commitment to early planning, structured preparation, and ensuring that its athletes are fully supported well ahead of the Games.
The two-day seminar, held at the Sanya Conifer Resort, brought together officials from 36th Asian National Olympic Committees, with several others joining virtually. Delegates received comprehensive briefings on accreditation, accommodation, transport, venue logistics, and competition schedules—critical areas that directly impact athlete performance and welfare.
Senior officials of the Olympic Council of Asia and the host city stressed collaboration and proactive engagement, highlighting the need for National Olympic Committees to work closely with organisers to deliver a seamless competitive environment for athletes.
With the Games scheduled from 20 to 30 April 2026 featuring 14 sports, 15 disciplines and 63 medal events.
Sri Lanka’s participation at this early stage is vital. The insights gained will strengthen planning, reduce operational risks, and enhance Team Sri Lanka’s readiness to compete confidently and proudly on the Asian stage.
