Moose Clothing Company is proud to announce its partnership with Sri Lanka Cricket as it sealed the rights as the Official Cricket Clothing Sponsor for the period of 2023–27.

Under the new partnership, Moose will provide official cricket clothing for Sri Lanka’s national teams during the upcoming tournaments, covering all formats of the game, including the International Cricket Council (ICC) and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) events.

Marking the partnership between the two entities, the official ODI jersey for the upcoming Sri Lanka vs. Afghanistan Men’s ODI series was revealed during a special ceremony conducted in Colombo on 25 May 2023.

As a youthful and versatile brand in Sri Lanka, Moose Clothing is on the verge of creating a new era for the fashion and apparel industry incorporating Sri Lanka Cricket. Sri Lanka cricket is the number one international brand in Sri Lanka and it’s known globally for its performance and passion for the sport. The previous SLC partnerships have helped Moose Clothing to become a household brand quite synonymous with cricket in Sri Lanka and reach the global arena throughout the past 2-3 years.

The partnership aims to bring together two of Sri Lanka’s main strengths: Fashion and apparel manufacturing and cricket. The nation is currently globally identified as an apparel manufacturing hub for numerous international brands such as Gap, Nike, Calvin Klein, Puma, etc. With the change of trends in apparel manufacturing, Asian countries such as Sri Lanka, India and Bangladesh have progressed considerably and are now significant contributors to the global fashion industry, influencing the industry through expertise, design and manufacturing capabilities.

Moose Clothing propelled by its vision and passion to build the next fashion hub in Sri Lanka whilst becoming an international brand, has once more stepped up to support the game of Cricket in Sri Lanka, creating an opportunity to combine fashion and sport, heralding a new era for Sri Lanka’s fashion and apparel industry.

Moose Clothing CEO Hasib Omar, sharing his views said: “The partnership aims to bring together two of Sri Lanka’s main strengths: Apparel industry and Cricket. We would like to use this partnership to showcase the Sparkling creativity, talent and strengths of moose clothing on the global stage. Ultimately, I hope this will help us to herald in a new era for Sri Lanka’s fashion and apparel industry. This is something we’ve been discussing for a long period of time, and I hope this initiative will mark as a stepping stone to reach new heights.”

“This partnership further enhances Moose Clothing Company’s continuous engagement with Sri Lanka Cricket to promote the game, and by doing so, I am sure the firm’s well-recognised clothing brand will gain the required global exposure,’’ said Sri Lanka Cricket CEO Ashley De Silva.

The new jersey has been designed following a thorough research and development analysis of the engineered fabric to enhance performance and ease of movement of the player combining technical fabrics used across the highest level in sport.

The interior of the fabric will help to pull moisture away from the skin and transfer it to the outer layer while the exterior surface will disperse and release this moisture for more efficient dry times. Continuous evaporation prevents saturation and regulates temperature in both hot and cold conditions. The fabric is highly breathable and lightweight, which will be an added advantage to the players.

The jersey designs combine critical aesthetic elements inspired by the culture, heritage and attractions of the country as well as depicting a rebirth of the lion nation with a combination of colours from the national flag. The colours used are meant to denote a sense of pride and rejuvenation in the country. In keeping with SLC’s iconic blue and yellow the jersey will also showcase a dash of orange as well as the Lion head honouring the bravery and resilience of the Sri Lankan people.

“The bold design of the jersey embodies the passion of both Sri Lankan team and its supporters. It is a symbol of the rebirth of a proud nation, representing much needed cheer, energy, warmth, happiness, and the bravery of the Sri Lankan people. As a home grown brand, it is indeed an exceptionally proud moment for us to be on the Sri Lanka cricket jersey. And we are looking forward to bringing the cricket jersey to the cricket lovers using our retailer network,” said Moose Clothing Company Head of Marketing Kithmini De Silva.

The Moose Clothing and SLC partnership will undoubtedly help to bring Sri Lanka’s fashion and apparel industry to new heights. It is a proud moment for both brands, and the jersey will be worn with pride by the Sri Lankan cricket team.
