The world’s leading synthetic motor oil, Mobil Lubricants, came forward as the official lubricants Partner of the 139th Royal-Thomian cricket encounter, taking place from the 8th to the 10th of March at the SSC Grounds in Colombo.
The Royal-Thomian has a rich and colourful history being recorded as the ‘second longest uninterrupted cricket series’ played in the world. Mobil extends its sponsorship to this encounter – which also happens to be the island’s oldest inter-school cricket ‘Big Match’ – in order to fuel the journeys of young, budding cricketers taking part in the event.
Commenting on the sponsorship, McLarens Lubricants Head of Marketing Dilan Seneviratne stated: “we are excited to be partnering with an event so rich in history and a sport that flows in the veins of every Sri Lankan.” He further went on to say: “we believe that the Battle of the Blues have redefined the entire concept of what an inter-school cricket match is by building it up to the large-scale sporting event that it is today.”
ExxonMobil is the world’s largest publicly traded international oil and gas company, which operates facilities and markets products in most countries in the world and explores oil and gas in 6 continents. McLarens Lubricants – sole agents for Mobil Lubricants in Sri Lanka – is part of the McLarens Group and is one of the country’s progressive conglomerates, driving business sectors in areas such as shipping and marine services, logistics, lubricants and automotive distribution, trading, manufacturing, hotel services and property development.
