Martis for Head Coach of XV a side

CH and FC Head Coach and National Youth Coach,  Sanath Martis

Former Isipathana, CR and FC and national player, current St Peter’s and CH and FC Head Coach and National Youth Coach, Sanath Martis was recommended by the Technical Committee for the appointment as the Head Coach of the Sri Lankan XV a side outfit for the Asia Rugby Division 1 encounters against Qatar national outfit.

This tournament is to be worked off at the Race Course in Colombo with the hosts playing 2 games against the visiting Qatar outfit as Pakistan is likely to pull out from the event due to political uncertainty.

 Technical committee comprises with Roshan Deen, Anil Jayasinghe, Tony Amit and Viper (jnr) Gunaratne with Tony Amit heading. According to reliable source the committee has already sent their nomination to the Council which will meet in the near future to approve and the National Selectors to name the initial squad for training.

The Technical Committee had recommended Dushantha Lewke the present Royal and League-winning, unbeaten CR and FC coach as their nominations for the forward role during the Clifford Cup winning Nilfer Ibrahim being named as the Backs Coach for this series, which is vital for Sri Lanka as the winner will play in the Asia Rugby Top 4 during 2025.
