All-rounder Manudi Nanayakkara from Princess of Wales, Moratuwa will lead Sri Lanka Under-19 in their six-match tour against Australia Under-19.
A 15-member squad has been picked for the matches which will be played at Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium.
Meanwhile, a 15-member Australia Under-19 women’s cricket team arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday to take part in the five-match T20 series and a one-off 50-over match against Sri Lanka Under19.
In picking the side Cricket Australia states:
“This series marks an important opportunity for the next generation of cricketers to gain exposure in sub continental conditions ahead of future ICC youth competitions. Cricket Australia has placed strong emphasis on developing its youth pathway, and this bilateral series aligns with its commitment to provide young players with international match experience. Playing in Sri Lanka will test both the technical and mental resilience of the squad, particularly with spin-friendly pitches expected to dominate the conditions.”
The 15-player contingent draws representatives from across six states and territories, with a balance of batters, bowlers, and all-round talents.
