Lankan trio at 29th Faldo Junior Europe Grand Final in UAE

The 29th Faldo Junior Tour Europe Grand Final, hosted by Sir Nick Faldo, will take place from 18 to 20 November at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club in UAE.

This prestigious three-day event will feature over 90 world’s top junior golfers from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas, competing without any cut-off after the second round.

Representing Sri Lanka at this global stage will be three outstanding talents Jevahn Sathasivam, Kaya Daluwatte and Reshan Algama (wild card). Their participation highlights the continued rise of Sri Lankan junior golf on the international scene.

Jevahn Sathasivam, the Boys Champion at the 2024 Faldo Series Sri Lanka Championship, enters the tournament in fine form, having notched some good wins in the recent past. His recent exposure at the Asian Youth Games (AYG) in Bahrain will serve him well in UAE similar playing conditions.

Reshan Algama, who ended as the runner up at the Colombo Faldo event, has displayed consistency with top 10 finishes both at the AYG in Bahrain and similar rankings in Thailand as well.

Kaya Daluwatte, Sri Lanka’s leading female amateur, continues to impress with some top class performances in the recent past. She won the first medal for Golf at the recently concluded AYG in Bahrain and then a week later she won the Thailand Junior Golf with sensational form.

The trio’s participation not only reflects their individual promise but also shows the steady progress of Sri Lankan Golf under their new President, former Royalist, Suresh Subramaniam.
