Nine Lankan cricketers to go before the hammer at IPL auction

Nine cricketers from Sri Lanka have been shortlisted from a total of 292 to go before the hammer at the Vivo Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 Player auction that is due to take place in Chennai on 18 February.

A total of 1,114 cricketers – 31 from Sri Lanka had initially registered for the auction. The final list was then pruned after the eight franchises submitted their shortlist of players.

A total of 164 Indian players, 125 overseas players and 3 players from Associate Nations will be up for grabs at the auction.

The nine players from Sri Lanka shortlisted for the auction are:

Sri Lanka players Kusal Perera, Thisara Perera, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dushmantha Chameera, Dasun Shanaka and Isuru Udana and uncapped players Kevin Koththigoda, Maheesh Theekshana and Vijayakanath Vijaskanth.
