Sri Lankan batsman Kusal Perera has a shoulder injury and his participation for the upcoming white ball series against India is doubtful.

Perera, it is learnt, picked up the injury during the ODI series in England and played with it due to the unavailability of a proper replacement in the squad.

Perera did not turn up for practices yesterday and his progress is being closely monitored by the medical staff.

If he is unavailable for the Indian series it will further weaken the Sri Lanka batting with only Dhananjaya de Silva being available as the senior batsman in the squad.

Perera led Sri Lanka in the white ball series in Bangladesh and in England, both series which Sri Lanka lost and is expected to be replaced as captain by Dasun Shanaka for the Indian series.

Meanwhile head coach Mickey Arthur and fast bowling coach Chaminda Vaas joined the Sri Lanka team at practice yesterday having ended their quarantine period.
