Kumar Danushan stole the limelight with some top class golf at the June Ranking Championship carding a brilliant 4-under-par 67 to take the lead after Day One at the Royal Colombo Golf Club yesterday.
Kumar performance stood out amidst a competitive leaderboard, with seasoned pros such as Nadarjah Thangaraja and Lalith Kumara.
Thangaraja returned an impressive 3 under 68 to finished the day in second place, while Lalith Kumara was just behind with a solid 1 under 70 rounding out the top three overall.
Among the amateurs Chanaka Perera recorded a steady 1 over 72 and placed 4th while Reshan Algama ended the day 2 over 73 for the 5th position tied with Uchitha Ranasinghe. Haroon Aslam returning from USA was tied on 7th place with K. Prabagaran on 7th position while Jacob Norton was tied on 10th position.
Jevahn Sathasivam posted 5 over 76 coming back from injury.
Today will be day 2 of the tournament.
