Kamindu Mendis took three wickets in his three overs
Sri Lanka’s white ball all-rounder Kamindu Mendis played a crucial role in MI Emirates securing their second win in the International League T20 match when they beat Abu Dhabi Knight Riders by 7 wickets at Abu Dhabi.
Mendis who is an ambidextrous spinner struck thrice for MI Emirates to remove Sherfane Rutherford, Liam Livingstone and Brandon McMullen for figures of 3/21 to pick up the Player of the Match award.
Afghanistan seamer Fazalhaq Farooqi was equally impressive with a haul of 4/14 as Abu Dhabi Knight Riders were put out for 122 in 19.3 overs.
MI Emirates knocked off the runs in 13.5 overs scoring 123-3 with Jonny Bairstow (49*) and Mendis (10*) seeing them home.
