In the Plate encounter, St Joseph’s pulled off a hard-fought 36/29 win over a gutsy Ananda outfit at Longdon Place.

At the short breather, Joes led 12/11.

Joes used their superior set-piece execution to gain territorial advantage, while Ananda fought back courageously with counter-attacking rugby.

Referee Tharindu Perera handled the game.

Up in the hills at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium, Mahanama crashed the Antonians’ party with a magnificent 40/15 win.

At the short breather, Mahanama led 19/5.

Although the Antonians had already won the Bowl before the commencement of this game, it was an embarrassing outing for them. The visitors played with aggression from the start, securing a commanding first-half lead and never relinquishing control.

Referee Nipuna Amarathunge officiated this encounter.
