Jetour-powered RCGC Monthly Medal produces top-class golf

The Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) successfully concluded its highly anticipated May Monthly Medal 2026 tournament, with  Jetour coming on board as the event sponsor for one of the club’s premier monthly golfing competitions.

A large and competitive field of golfers teed off across several divisions at the historic RCGC course, with players showcasing impressive performances throughout the tournament. The event once again highlighted the strong golfing culture and professionalism maintained by the RCGC, regarded as one of the oldest and most respected golf clubs in the region.

The standout performer of the tournament was Udula Wijesinghe, who emerged as the Overall Winner after returning a superb nett score of 65 and securing victory on the back-nine countback. Wijesinghe also enjoyed a memorable outing by clinching the Division B Nett title, while adding the Division B Gross crown with an excellent gross score of 77. Abdul Wadood Reza finished as runner-up in the division.

In Division A, Manjula Chandrasoma won the Nett title with a score of 68, while Sachin De Silva secured runner-up honours on 70 nett and later captured the Gross title with a fine 69 gross performance.

Division C honours were dominated by Luke Mutukrisna, who completed an impressive double by winning both Nett (65) and Gross (89). Mevan Perera claimed the runner-up position in the Nett category.

The Seniors Division saw Sunimal Salgado win the Nett title with 68, narrowly ahead of Wijitha Perera, while Kumar Boralessa topped the Gross category. In the Masters Division, Gamini Jayaweera achieved a notable double by winning both Nett and Gross titles.

The Junior and Ladies’ Divisions also produced strong performances, underlining the depth of talent at the RCGC. Special awards were presented to Vinuda Weerasinghe for the Longest Drive and Seelanatha Kuruppu for Closest to the PIN.
