The Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) ushered in a new era at its Annual General Meeting with the appointment of veteran banker Jehaan Ismail as President.

His strong corporate background and longstanding association with the club are expected to steer RCGC towards sustained growth and excellence.

In a major highlight, Sri Lanka cricket great Mahela Jayawardene was named Captain of the club. His proven leadership and elite sporting mindset are set to energise the golfing fraternity and elevate competitive standards at the RCGC.

Dihan Dedigama takes on the role of Vice Captain, ensuring continuity in on-field leadership. Administrative responsibilities will be handled by Tharanga Gunasekera and Noordeen Sethwala will be overseeing marketing and course management.

Financial affairs remain under the guidance of Niloo Jayatilake, while member experience will be enhanced by Shamal Perera and Kushal Johnpillai, focusing on hospitality and development.

The committee is further strengthened by the inclusion of Malik Ahamadeen, Suren Madanayake, Dhinuka Boralessa, and Somanath Fernando. (SJ)
