The Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) Club Championship quarter-finals saw four standout performances setting the stage for two exciting semi-final clashes.
Jacob Norton shocked the much-fancied Reshan Algama in a tightly contested match, winning 1 up.
Yannik Kumara made a strong run, defeating Venuda Weerasinghe with a solid 2/1 to finish, proving his consistency under pressure.
In another dominant performance, Kumar Danushan was in top form, comfortably beating Husni Uwise 4/1, while Sachin de Silva produced a powerful game to overcome Kaiyan Johnpillai with a 4/3 victory.
With the semi-finals now set, Jacob Norton will face Yannik Kumara in what promises to be a high-quality showdown, while Sachin de Silva takes on Kumar Danushan in a battle of experience versus rising talent.
In the Ladies’ Bronze final today (23), Dhanushi Wanasinghe will face Fran de Mel. In the Ladies’ semi-final, Kaya Daluwatte will meet Maleena Awn, while Jade Jiggens will encounter Tiru Jesudasan in the other semi-final encounter. (SJ)
