Isipathana College Old Boys win Lions Inter-School Tag Rugby

Old Isipathana skipper Sajith Saranga receives the trophy from Dilroy Fernando

Isipathana College Old Boys won the Lanka Lions Inter-School Tag Rugby Tournament played for Roger Rodrigo Challenge Trophy in UAE.

The running of the tournament was facilitated by Dilroy Fernando.

Isipathana beat St. Peter’s 35/0 in the first semi-final, while in the second semi-final encounter, Trinity beat their traditional rivals Antonians 14/7. In the grand finale, the scores were nil all. With the kick at goal taken, Isipathana got three of them accurately, while Trinity could manage only two of them.

Old Isipathana outfit was led by Sajith Saranga while Old Trinitians were led by Shezard Deen.

Praneeth Weranga officiated the Cup final, while three referees were invited for this event. They were veteran Gamini Indrasena, Dharmapala Nimal and Lahiru Hewanadugalage.
