India and Kazakhstan join the scrum

Asia Rugby (AR) has added India and Kazakhstan to the Asia Rugby Division 1 encounter which will see 4 nations locking horns at the Race Course ground.

Originally Pakistan was to participate but due to political uncertainty they will skip this event.

Kazakhstan will now play Qatar in the first semi-final while hosts Sri Lanka will play India in the second semi-final.

Winners play for the top spot in AR top 4 in 2025 while losers will play for 3rd place. The 4th placed team will be demoted to Division 2 next year. The tournament is scheduled from 28 April to 5 May in Colombo. Sanath Martis was nominated to Head the Coaching role for Sri Lanka. - (SJ)
