Imesha Dulani as travelling reserve for injured Harshitha

22-year-old right-hander Imesha Dulani will join the Sri Lanka women’s cricket team in Abu Dhabi as a travelling reserve for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier.

Dulani will be a cover up for top order batter Harshitha Samarawickrama who has an injured finger.

“Harshitha has broken the ring finger on top of her left hand,” said Coach Rumesh Ratnayake. “It is something we might be able to manage because we have another 10 days before our first match of the Qualifier. The injury happened four days ago before. We can let her strap it and play. As a precautionary measure we have requested for a travelling reserve and Sri Lanka Cricket has given us Imesha Dulani.”

Sri Lanka plays Thailand in their first Qualifier match at Tolerance Oval, Abu Dhabi on 25 April.
