Reigning ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup champions – Australia
Sri Lanka will play five of its seven matches of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium which is one of the five venues where the matches will be played.
The R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium will also host 11 of the 28 league matches including the big one between India and Pakistan on Sunday 5 October.
The CCC grounds will host two warm-up games between Bangladesh and South Africa on 25 September, and South Africa vs Pakistan on 28 September. The R. Premadasa Stadium will also host a few warm-up matches – Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 25 September and Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh on 27 September.
The unavailability of Chinnaswamy Stadium sees Navi Mumbai replacing Bengaluru as one of the five venues for the eight-team tournament that commences on 30 September. The ACA Stadium (Guwahati), Holkar Stadium (Indore), and ACA-VDCA Stadium (Visakhapatnam) are the other venues hosting the matches.
The ICC in announcing the revised scheduled stated that depending on how Pakistan fare, the final of the tournament will be held either in Colombo (RPS) or Navi Mumbai on 2 November, with the first semi-final set to be in Guwahati or Colombo (RPS) on 29 October and the second semi-final in Navi Mumbai on 30 October. All matches commence at 3 pm except the England v New Zealand game on 26 October which is at 11 a.m.
