Maduranga Zoysa from Hayleys Group “B” and Goshitha Sajitha from Stafford Motor Co., hogged the limelight by being the first centurions, in the ongoing “CBL-Munchee” Trophy – MCA “D” division 40 over League Tournament, continued last weekend (18 and 19 November).

Maduranga Zoysa scored an aggressive 105 runs in 106 balls, inclusive of 06 sixes and 09 fours, steered Hayleys Group “B” to a fine 07 wickets win over Melwire Rolling Goshitha Sajitha’s sparkling 104 runs in 92 balls, inclusive of a six and 16 fours helped Stafford Motors to go over the 300 runs mark in 40 overs and beat new comers, Recovery Room by a massive margin of 202 runs.

Week-end’s bowling honours went to Sanjeeva Vishan from Stafford Motors, who bagged 05 wickets for 17 runs in 5.4 overs, inclusive of a maiden that shot out Recovery Room for 103 runs in 28.4 overs.

At Pannipitiya – Stafford Motors beat Recovery Room by 202 runs; Stafford Motors – 305/6 (40); Recovery Room – 103 (28.4)

At Darley Road – Central Finance beat Peoples Leasing by 06 wickets ; Peoples Leasing 124 (37.5), Central Finance 128/4 (26.2)

The tournament will be continued this weekend (25 and 26 November) with a card of five matches.
