Haroon Aslam, representing Texas Wesleyan University, secured his first intercollegiate victory at the Roadrunner Classic, held recently in Georgia statein USA.
The 54-hole tournament, played at Farm in Rocky Face, USA featured a competitive field of 63 golfers in Texas Wesleyan University delivered a strong team performance, finishing in third place overall. in total 12 7niversities teed off while the former Trinitian was on top of the leaderboard in all 13 rounds as well.
Haroon displayed exceptional composure under pressure, birdieing the final hole to force a playoff. He then went on to clinch the title on the very first playoff hole, marking a milestone in his collegiate career.
The collegiate format 36 holes on Day 1 followed by 18 holes on Day 2 demands both physical endurance and mental strength making Haroon’s achievement all the more commendable.
The Farm is widely regarded as one of the most challenging golf courses in Georgia and has previously hosted prestigious events such as the Georgia State Amateur Championship, Southern Amateur Championship, and the Georgia Women’s State Amateur. (SJ)
