Sri Lanka Legends skipper T.M. Dilshan has undergone a MRI scan for a hamstring injury, ahead of his flight to Sydney last night.
Sri Lanka Legends Team Manager Shyam Impett told NewsWire that Dilshan had suffered a level-1 hamstring tear during the Road Safety World Series in India.
He said Dilshan had played the entire series with the injury.
Dilshan’s injury is said to have increased to a level-2 injury after the second game, and later to level-3 after the third match of the series.
Impett said Dilshan had thereafter continued participating in the series while taking painkillers and injections.
He further said the four-inch hamstring tear was reportedly bleeding internally and the Sri Lanka Legends skipper was currently in severe pain.
He added that Dilshan was in severe pain while travelling back to Sri Lanka after the conclusion of the series in India.
Dilshan had undergone the MRI scan on his injury prior to his departure to Australia last night, where he currently resides with his family. (NewsWire)
