HNB PLC’s Private Banking division will host its third edition of the HNB Legacy Open at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club on 21 and 22 August, with InQube Global Ltd., confirmed as the tournament’s Official Performance Apparel Partner.
Now in its third consecutive year, the HNB Legacy Open has established itself as a signature annual fixture for the bank’s Private Banking clients, combining competitive golf with the curated hospitality that has defined the event since its inaugural edition in 2024.
The tournament was launched following HNB’s long-standing association with the Millennium Trophy at the Royal Colombo Golf Club, marking the bank’s move toward independently hosting a Private Banking event of this scale. Each edition has built on the last, and the 2026 edition introduces InQube’s performance apparel expertise onto the course for the first time, with the company designing and supplying performance wear for the participants.
HNB Chief Operating Officer Sanjay Wijemanne said: “HNB Private Banking is built on the quality of the relationships we keep, and the Legacy Open is an extension of that philosophy. The partners we bring into this tournament say something about the standard we hold ourselves to. InQube has built a globally credible performance apparel operation from Sri Lanka, and that is exactly the kind of partner we want alongside us in this space.”
InQube is a global leader in apparel innovation, founded in 2017 as a joint venture with Brandix Asia Holdings and grown into a US$ 300 m business within nine years, placing it among the top five apparel exporters in Sri Lanka. The company operates a dedicated sportswear and performance apparel vertical with multi-product manufacturing capacity and performance printing technologies, alongside operations spanning six countries and a workforce of over 13,000 employees. Its client portfolio includes Lululemon, Skims, Under Armour, Victoria’s Secret & Co., GAP Inc., and Decathlon.
InQube Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Dilan Gooneratne said: “Performance apparel at the level InQube operates demands precision - in advanced material science, fit engineering, and high-end assembly. We develop for global brands who hold us to the highest standards, and we bring that same discipline to every partnership we enter. The HNB Legacy Open is an opportunity to bring that work home, and to show what is possible when Sri Lanka’s financial and apparel sectors come together around a shared standard of excellence.”
