HNB Assurance enters MCA “G” Division 25-Over League final

HNB Assurance entered the final of the 14th Stafford Motor Co.-sponsored ‘Honda’ Trophy – MCA “G” Division 25-Over League Tournament 2025, as they romped to a comprehensive 192-run win over Singer Sri Lanka ‘B’ in the semi-final played at the MCA Grounds on 14 June.

HNB Assurance, sent into bat riding on an aggressive 85-run stand for the second wicket between Dasun Abeywardena (81 runs off 46 balls, 6 sixes, 4 fours) and Linal Subasinghe (70 off 47 balls, 5 sixes, 3fours), finished their 25 overs with an impressive total of 227-6.

HNB Assurance ‘B’ opening bowlers Chamod Piyumal (3/6 in 2 overs) and Chamil Wickramaratne (4/10 in 4.3 overs) went through the Singer batting like a hot knife on butter, as they shot out for a paltry 35 runs in just 10.3 overs.

HNB Assurance in the final will meet the winner of the other semi-final between Access Group and Aitken Spence Group.
