Gehan Siribaddana appointed Captain at RCGC

The Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC), one of Sri Lanka’s most prestigious and historic golf institutions, appointed Gehan Siribaddana as Captain for the year 2025/2026 with effect from today (28 March).

He took over the reins from esteemed Past Captain, Amrith De Soysa.

A distinguished professional with an impeccable track record in corporate leadership, Siribaddana works at Auto Bavaria as Managing Director, a premier BMW after-sales service company in Sri Lanka. A veteran in the automobile industry in Sri Lanka, he counts over three decades of experience in managing premium global automotive brands such as BMW, Mini, Range Rover, and Hyundai in the country.

A former Peterite, Siribaddana also served as the Mercantile Cricket Association’s Millennium President and was an Executive Committee Member of the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka.Beyond his professional achievements, Siribaddana is a committed community leader and philanthropist, having served as a District Governor of Rotary in Sri Lanka and the Maldives, where he earned several accolades, including the prestigious ‘Most Outstanding Rotarian of the Year’ award for his exceptional contributions to service and leadership.

A top-class golfer, Siribaddana has been a devoted member of the RCGC for many years, not only participating actively in the game but also playing an instrumental role in the club’s strategic development. Notably, he pioneered the club’s digital transformation by introducing the RCGC Mobile App — a first among golf clubs in Sri Lanka.

This initiative has elevated the overall member experience, aligning the club with global best practices and setting a new benchmark in digital member engagement within the country’s golfing community.
