The Under-19 Girls Sri Lanka Youth League T20 final turned out to be a hopelessly one-sided game at the NCC grounds as Galle beat Colombo by a convincing margin of 90 runs to lift the title.

Galle captained by Rishmi Sanjana won the toss and batting first saw her team score 143-3 with wicket-keeper/bat Nethagi Isuranjali and Rashmi Nethranjalai providing the base for the total with an unbroken partnership of 103 for the fourth wicket after Galle had lost their first two wickets for 3 runs through run outs and the third at 40.

Isuranjali batting with conviction struck 9 fours and 2 sixes in her score of 77* off 65 balls, and Nethranjalai giving good support made 39* off 34 balls (4 fours, 1 six).

Colombo led by Limmy Tillakaratne, daughter of former Sri Lanka Captain Tillakaratne Dilshan were poor in their reply as they were shot out for a paltry 53 in 12 overs. The main damage to the Colombo batting was done by off-spinner Shehara Induwari who went onto take 4/10 in 2 overs.

Galle received Rs. 500,000 as champions, Colombo Rs. 300,000 as runner-up. Player of the Final (Rs. 50,000) was Nethagi Isuranjali (Galle), Player of the Tournament (Rs. 100,000) - Nethmi Upeksha (Dambulla), Best Batter (Rs. 75,000) – Sanjana Kavindi (Galle), and Best Bowler (Rs. 75,000) – Rishmi Sanjana (Galle).

Awards were presented by Tournament Committee Chairman Nalin Aponso, Ladies Cricket Senior Manager Roshan Biyanwela and UVA PCA Secretary and Exco Member Bhaghidaran.
